Welcome to Chattox. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and use our AI chat services with your Dropbox files.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Identity Data: Name and email address (via Dropbox or OneDrive).
File Data: We access your Dropbox files strictly for the purpose of indexing them to answer your questions. We store encrypted "embeddings" (mathematical representations) of your file text, but we do not store the original files permanently on our servers.
Usage Data: Information about how you use our website, products, and services.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data strictly to provide the Chattox service:

To authenticate you and connect to your cloud storage providers.
To process your files using OpenAI's API to generate answers. (Note: OpenAI does not use your data to train their models when submitted via their API).
To process payments via Stripe.

We DO NOT sell your data to third parties.

4. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way. Your access tokens are encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest. Chat history is stored securely in our database.

You have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, transfer, to object to processing, to portability of data and (where the lawful ground of processing is consent) to withdraw consent.
